few years ago I learned the power of 100. I had this idea that I would be self-employed and I wouldn’t need to answer to anyone anymore. Boy was I wrong. The problem with this way of thinking was I individualized myself. I was the thinker, the doer, the builder, the employer, the hater and more. I made money, didn’t do to bad either. But I realized if something was to happen to me who would take care of my family? My wife is creative and brilliant but because I was self-employed I kept everything in my head and I knew all the secrets of my business.

What we need to do is learn to work in the system, by which I mean that everybody, every team, every platform, every division, every component is there not for individual competitive profit or recognition, but for contribution to the system as a whole on a win-win basis.Well, one day I looked up what the Business Dictionary says about being self employed,”Individuals who work for themselves and are not employed by another. The owner-operator of a Sole Proprietorship or a partner in a Partnership is considered self-employed. Those who are self-employed assume all the risks and responsibilities of a business enterprise…” You and I see that as being the greatest thing in the world.

Sounds great doesn’t it?Be Your Own Boss?! Be the one makes the rules?! Be Number ONE?!

I thought this was the greatest thing in the world until IT happened. What was IT you ask? I got sick. Now I had problems, because when your self-employed one thing you cannot do is get sick. Because your clients need it today and when you cannot do anything for a week no one understands the excuse of being sick. You are only ONE PERSON and sometimes we forget that.

From that day on I have been on a search to find alternative ways to build a business while still keeping my individuality. The first thing that came to mind, was what business is similar to a construction company. An organization where a team of 100 to 150 minds from different trades, work together towards a common goal? At the end their goal stands forever. But the only problem was when the construction guy is all done the only one that profits is the guy who put the project together; there was no residual income. Could you imagine if every house a master electrician help build he received 3% from the profits every time the homeowners mortgage is paid? He would only have to help build ten $300,000 homes before he would see an extra $3078 annually. Well, we both know that most successful Master Electricians have been contracted to build over 40 homes in a period of 2 years. Just imagine how much happier that industry would be if they received residuals.

Today is the word for winners and tomorrow is the word for losers” – Robert Kiyosaki

My way of thinking is very similar to building a house. I’m just applying it to building a successful business. If you build a network of 100 people including yourself and each one of you give a minimal of 5% that’s 500% effort. We continue the trend in duplication and we will create a monster network. In the network marketing business I know people who have become millionaires after building 3 to 8 partners, and duplicating the same practice. But I personally could never imagine building a house with only five people. It would take us forever unless it was a very small house.
