Kitara by MisadigitalThis years CES (Consumer Electronic Show) in Las Vegas I was not impressive by a lot so I was really excited when I noticed a crowd of people gathered around one booth. I hurried over to the Misadigital booth, hoping to get a glimpse of what all the fuss was about. Being 5’ 2”, I began jumping up and down to see above the crowd, but no luck. So I stopped and listened, I heard an electric guitar playing Jimi Hendrix; I thought to myself, “what’s the big deal? It’s just an electric guitar, unless Jimi himself is visiting from the grave and playing it himself” So I squeezed myself through the crowd to the front (being very petite does have its advantages) and there I saw it! This guitar had no strings! It was 100% digital! And it sounded like a real guitar!

A couple days later I took a drive to Anaheim, Ca to NAMM (the National Association of Music Merchants ) and what did I see? The Misadigital Kitara again! There was a big crowd around the booth again and this time I decided to find out more so I talked to Audrey Felix The Communication Director of Misadigital. She was awesome and shared a ton of information with me.

So-Ro

W
hen I was a little girl I loved watching the old black and Shirley Temple movies, I dreamed of having the pretty silk pajamas she had, her porcelain dolls, and her fancy furniture built just to her size. What little girl doesn’t dream of being a “Little Princess”? While at the  ABC Kids Expo I felt like that little girl again and as I watched my youngest , almost four-year old walk around the show awestruck sitting in the elegant and sleek little chairs, trying out the latest toys, and sampling little treats could  picture his dreams of being a “Little Prince”.

There were so many amazing products at the show, but there were a few furniture companies that really stood out. The first one I noticed was So-ro, a Scandinavian cradle that was so stylish, I wish they made one in my size! It had all the sleekness and simplicity you often see in Ikea designs but an Elegance and uniqueness that was all its own. Even the representative was dressed in a stylish Khaki dress that went perfectly with the laminated wood design. The cradle had a pod-like quality and almost looked like a drawer reminiscent of the 60’s furniture I remember admiring at my German grandmother’s Regal Park high rise. There was something very European about it.

Julius and Gideon enjoy the Piggyback Rider

W
hile at the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas I found so many fabulous products that I wish I had when my kids were babies and toddlers. My all-time favorite product was The Piggyback Rider, a beautifully designed child carrier. It is basically a solid aluminum bar that rests below your back so your child to stand up, positioning the center of mass over your hips. The great thing about it is you can comfortably carry your child and walk upright!  There are two locations on the areas on the Piggyback Rider where your child can hold on to you with our grabbing your neck. The child safety harness will make you feel at ease and allow you to bond with your child.

The creators of the fabulous Piggyback Rider,  the Lifshitz brothers, active fathers of a combined eight children, had their fill of carrying their kids around and knew, first-hand quickly that there had to be a better alternative to the bulky backpack carrier or stroller. I can definitely relate to this, as I am sure many of you can. When my first two children were little I lived in the city in Philly and even the little fold-up strollers were too cumbersome to take up and down the steps of the subway.

C
onnected electronics are on the top of everyone’s gifts list this holiday shopping season. According to a study done by Parks Associates, three million U.S. broadband households will buy an Internet-connected TV this holiday season. The study also found that almost 25 percent of U.S. broadband households already own at least one Internet-connected device such as Internet-connected game consoles, Blu-ray players, tablet computers (iPad) and digital video players, including Roku and Apple TV, and one-fourth of those have watched at least one movie-on-demand in the past month.

According to the Vice President of Parks Associates, Kurt Scherf, "Only 38% of U.S. broadband households plan to purchase a Connected Electronic device this year, but it's the connected CE and smartphones that will be the most popular items," . "Connected devices are the future of content consumption and entertainment in the living room as they capture the broader trends of integration among different silos in consumers' lives."
